We will continue Public Comments in-person at the board meeting; however, we will not be reading Public Comments that are emailed during the meeting. The Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation is offering their annual Major Saver Cards! Our schools will move to Full-Remote learning Monday, November 23, 2020, so this campaign will be ran remotely as well. Cards will be sold by students in an online format and mailed to the purchaser.
Major Saver card purchases help benefit all of our schools who participate. Since 2013, the Shawnee Heights Public Schools Foundation has helped raise nearly $171,000 with the Major Saver Program.

We will start serving grab and go lunches tomorrow, March 17, 2020, from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Starlite Skate Rink, Eastgate, Tecumseh United Methodist Church and Shawnee Heights High School. Feeding sites are open to all students in all attendance areas.
As of March 13, 2020, the Shawnee County Health Department has ordered all school districts in the county to suspend classroom & extracurricular activities. We have no decision on Boys and Girls Club programs at the moment and are awaiting guidance SCHD. We will keep you posted.
There will be a 1-hour delay for Parent-Teacher Conferences today, Thursday, February 13, 2020. Scheduled meeting times will not change unless you are scheduled between 8:00-9:00 am. If you are schedule between 8:00-9:00 am, please call your school to reschedule your meeting.
We have made a schedule change to make up for 2 of the 3 snow days. Monday, April 13, 2020, is now a student attendance day and Friday, May 22, 2020, is now the last day of school. All school calendars now reflect this change.
The 8th Grade students are learning about the geologic time scale by creating timelines that proportionally represent the Earth’s history. Each centimeter is 10 million years!
Junior Achievement of Topeka has had a presence at SHMS for many years. Business professionals from the community come to the school and conduct activities with the seventh grade students to foster work readiness, entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills. Dollars for Donuts this morning at SHMS. Students may purchase a donut for a minimum one dollar donation. Proceeds are used to help Shawnee Heights middle school families in need during Thanksgiving and Christmas.
