Track and Field

Participants must complete the following before practice or tryouts begin:

  1. Have a completed physical. This can be emailed to the office SHMSAthletic@usd450.net, dropped off in the office (office hours are 7:15 - 3:30 M-F), or brought on or before the first day of tryouts. No player will be allowed to try out without a completed KSHSAA physical packet on file.

  2. Complete the Concussion video. The only participants that need to do this are the ones that have not previously been involved in a sport this year. Once completed, athletes/guardians can email the certificate to the Athletic Director, Erin Unruh, SHMSAthletic@usd450.net, drop the certificate off at the office with their physical, or bring it with them to practice on the first day.

All athletes must have a physical on file in the MS office before they can attend practice (no exceptions).   All athletes must watch the NFHS videos.  We would encourage parents to watch them with their children.  Here are the links to NFHS:

Once you are on the NFHS page, set up an account. The accounts are free to set up. Be sure to choose the video for Kansas.  Once your child has watched the video, the athlete needs to take a screenshot of the screen and send it to his or her head coach or print the certificate and bring it with him or her to the athlete’s first practice/tryout. Participants who come without the certificate will be required to watch the video at the school and miss that portion of tryouts. Thank you for your help with this step.
