SHMS held their first I&I Ceremony to celebrate students' involvement in the JAG-K Program. JAG-K allows students to explore career opportunities and practice soft skills to prepare for post-secondary education, military service, or right into the workforce following graduation.

Believe it or not, it's time for students to start thinking about their plans for the next school year! Mrs. Esquibel and Mr. West spoke to 7th-grade students about choosing courses to align with what they may want to study in high school and beyond.

This is the 2nd year that bowling has been offered at SHMS and newer programs have to fundraise for the first 3 years. The funds collected from this fundraiser will be applied towards coaches’ stipends, bowling center fees, uniforms and equipment for the team. We have about 65 students that would like to participate. The Support SHMS Support Local fundraiser was a success. Students sold $16,565 worth of locally produced items and raised $5930 for the school. The top selling class was Mrs. Hobby’s 8th grade advisor class with $1923 in gross sales. Their prize was a pizza lunch at Thunderbirds Grille. A special thanks to our parents, extended family members, friends, supports and the 7 small businesses who supported the fundraiser: Cashmere Popcorn LLC, Leonard Meat, Stumpy's Smoked Cheese, Blue Jazz Coffee Roasters, T Creek Bees & Honey, and Mom & I's Candy
Parent teacher conferences are right around the corner and we hope you can help the PTO provide meals for the teachers and staff during these long days. The PTO will provide the main courses we just need your help with sides, desserts, drinks and utensils/paper products. All donations can be dropped off in the office. We had a great soft start to the SHMS Support Local fundraiser. There were 34 orders representing the friends and family of 24 unique students. The school earned $785 in profit to support the STATE program. If only 25% of families participated, we could fund the STATE program for the year! The deal-of-the day is from Leonard Meat. They are offering 10lb ground beef boxes from 70/30 to 95/5 for $4.20 to $6.35/lb. They also have a good steak bundle and gift cards online.
